With the holiday season coming up, I decided to come up with a slow cooker freezer kit. All of the recipes are from my blog and were easy to adapt to become freezer kits.
July 29th, 2019 – Update: The grocery list is incorrect. You need 2 bags of peppers and onions and only 1 bag of mixed veggies.
So what are slow cooker freezer kits? Basically you have everything you need to fix a meal in the slow cooker ready to go in the freezer. There might be a few items that you might need to add to the slow cooker on the day you cook the meal. Other than that, everything else is ready to go.
It takes to prep all of the meals but you’ll love the freedom of having the kits in the freezer. I usually get my freezer kit recipes from New Leaf Wellness. However today I created my own from recipes that I have on the blog.
First of all, you’ll need to spend some time bulk cooking some ground beef. I offered a way to do it in the slow cooker. You can do it on the stove top if you want to do that instead of in the slow cooker.
Here are the 8 recipes, I included in my slow cooker freezer kit.
- Veggie Beef Soup
- Chicken Ranch Tacos
- Taco Soup
- Stuffed Pepper Soup
- Balsamic Pork
- Bramble Beans (So Good!)
- Slow Cooker Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes
- Peach BBQ Pulled Pork
All of these recipes are gluten free or easily adapted to be gluten free.
I prepped from one of the meal plans on New Leaf Wellness. However I now wish I prepped from this list. Maybe I’ll do that during Christmas break.
Next week, I’ll be back on listing gluten free recipes on this blog. I’ll share holiday treats that are gluten free.
Here is the link to the recipes, how to prepare the kits, and then how to cook the kits. I also made a grocery list.
All of the kits need to be used within 3 months in a standard freezer and 6 months when in a deep freezer.
