I’ve discussed my health on previous blog posts. Every since November 2017, I’ve had abdominal pains especially after I eat especially after meats, greasy foods, or big meals.
I went to the Emergency room in early December because I had the pains for five days. They told me that I was low in potassium, dehydrated, and had a stomach virus.
Little did I know, I had gallstones. Here was my update from January 31st.
I’ve got more to add to that update.
I went and got my endoscopy done on February 2nd. They use a local anesthesia so they can put a scope down your throat – a ten minute procedure. My doctor was looking for ulcers which there was none.
My Day after the Endoscopy
On the 12th, I met with my surgeon and set up the date for my surgery which is on March 2nd. It’s going to be a laparoscopic surgery.
I had my pre-admission testing done yesterday via the phone. We had to go over my medical history and discuss what to do on the day of the surgery.
On Tuesday the 13th, I had another gallbladder attack. Oh, my goodness, was it bad. I had sausage the night before. Some of the sausage could not be digested so my gallbladder had to get rid of the parts that could not be digested in the most unpleasant way.
So I made the decision to eat vegetarian at least until the surgery. I like meat but it’s one food I can take or leave at times, if that makes sense.
I’m currently on day 3 of eating vegetarian. My belly still has issues after eating but it’s not the same as when I have meat.
Here is what I ate during the first 3 days:
Day 1:
Breakfast – Green Smoothie with Chia Seeds – OJ, spinach, and mixed frozen fruit
Lunch – Breakfast potatoes with mustard, Greek broccoli salad with tzatziki sauce
Snack – Popcorn (A custodian makes this every day. It’s one thing that does not bother my belly.), Veggies with hummus, Fruit, Chocolate chip cookie dough Larabar
Dinner – Melt’s mushroom and caramelized onion sandwich and French fries cooked in my air fryer.
Day 2:
Breakfast – Breakfast potatoes and scrambled egg
Lunch – 1/3 of a Mediterranean Power Bowl from Piada – Valentine’s Day Lunch with Hubby
Dinner – Honey Garlic Cauliflower and veggie fried rice – Celebrating Chinese New Year
Snack – Green smoothie with chia seeds
Dessert – 1/2 of a chocolate bar
Day 3:
Today is day 3 so I’ve only had breakfast.
Breakfast – 2 gluten free, dairy free pancakes from Trader Joes with a little drizzle of maple syrup, breakfast potatoes, and 1/2 of a Cara Orange.
I’m going to eat leftovers for the remainder of the day. I have 2/3rds of my Mediterranean Power Bowl, honey garlic cauliflower, slaw from Melt (didn’t eat it on Thursday), and the Greek Broccoli salad.
Follow me on Instagram to see more of my meals because I am going to try to keep it updated when I make some new meals.
Have a magical day,
Traci
