What We Ate – Columbus, Ohio (January 2017)

A couple of weeks ago, Hubby and I had an evening and the next day to ourselves so we decided to visit a family friend in Columbus, Ohio and then spend the next day at the Columbus Zoo.

Our family friends took us to a local mom and pop’s pizza parlor called Fracasso’s Village Pizza.  (Facebook page)

We got two pizzas.  One a meat pizza with sausage and pepperoni.  I didn’t have any of that pizza and forgot to take a photo of it.  The other was a chicken ranch pizza.  It was delicious!

Our family friends and I got a salad with the pizza.  Hubby does not touch rabbit food so he did not have a salad.

We also had bread sticks.  I forgot to take photos of the bread sticks.

Our family friends offered to make us breakfast the next morning.  However, we chose to go out to breakfast.  We ended up at a place called Scrambler Marie‘s for breakfast.

Our waitress, Ashley, was a true professional waitress.  She saw my camera and made a comment about it.  We told her that we were going to the Columbus Zoo after breakfast.  She told us to have a great time.

Hubby had French toast for breakfast.

I had cinnamon oatmeal pancakes for my breakfast.

We ended up sharing this dish of potatoes.  Yum!

The note left on the back of our receipt at Scrambler Marie’s.

While we were at the Columbus Zoo, we did not get any food.  I did get an iced caramel macchiato from the new cafe’ by the aquarium.  Hubby got himself a Pepsi.  We sat and watched the penguins while enjoying our drinks.  (No pics were taken of our drinks.)

After the zoo, we headed to a fast food place called Culver’s for a late lunch.

Hubby’s burger and onion rings – I think he got a regular cheeseburger.  He also had a Culver’s root beer with his lunch.

My fries and swiss butter burger – I also got a root beer with my lunch.

We stopped at a place called Zoup‘s before heading home.  Zoup’s is known for their soups.  You can taste test all the ones they feature for the day.

We got our soups to go since we were not hungry at that time.  Since Mom watched our bird and dog while we were gone, we got her some soup also.  Hubby and Mom had chicken pot pie soup.  I got a crab bisque and ginger butternut squash soup.  I ate the crab bisque that night and the ginger butternut soup at work on Monday.

You get a roll with your soup so I got the sourdough roll.  Yum!

Have a magical day,

  1. I’ve been living in Columbus for years and only just tried Culver’s a few months ago! If you’re in Columbus again, you should definitely make a stop at Hounddogs Three Degree Pizza and Handel’s Ice Cream! So amazing! 🙂

    1. I’m planning to go to Columbus in a few weeks. I wonder how far those places are from COSI.

Please leave me a message so I know you came and visited.
