Half the year is now over.
Have you had any memorable highlights in the past six months?I turned 50 in May. I did a solo trip to Niagara Falls for the evening of my 50th birthday. The next day, I traveled to my friend’s house.
I also did the EPIC trip to New England with the same friend.
My husband and I traveled to the Natural Bridge area of Kentucky the weekend after my birthday. We were 2 hours from the London, Kentucky, tornadoes in the living room of an A-frame. The thunder and lightning outside were scary. Luckily, we did not have any issues.Niagara Falls – The morning after my birthday The tight squeeze rock formation at the Natural Bridge in Kentucky Yantic Falls in Norwich, Connecticut What are you looking forward to in the coming six months?
I don’t have any real plans for the next six months. I go back to work in a month and a half.
How do you keep cool on a hot day?
Air conditioning in my house – Ohio, like most of the United States, went through a major heat wave. I stayed inside for the most part. It was even too hot to go to the pool.
Now we are going through a period of rain AGAIN.
Have you ever danced in the rain?
It’s rainy today. I haven’t been out there in the rain yet.
Oh, wait, you’ve meant EVER. Yes, I have danced in the rain. -
Previous Post – The Last of Mystic Aquarium
After we left the aquarium, we went to the downtown Mystic area. We ate at Mystic Pizza. There were two different parts to the restaurant. One was a sit-down restaurant, and the other was a bar that sold pizza by the slice. We chose the restaurant.
The pizza was delicious. The crust had a crispiness at the bottom that I loved. Yum!
The restaurant had the movie playing in the background, but on mute. I thought that was a good touch.

You can see the pan and how they made the crust crispy.
I had the Hawaiian pizza while my friend had the Margherita pizza. Both were delicious.

Join me next time for photos of Mystic, Connecticut.

Previous Post – Inside photos of the Aquarium
Today’s post is the rest of the photos from the Mystic Aquarium.
They had a cool sea lion show that we watched. After we were done with the sea lion show, we went back outside. They were doing a training with the beluga whale, which we thought was interesting.
One of their workers was highly knowledgeable about the beluga whales. We listened to her talk about them, which was a neat experience. Another of the workers gave us information about the sea lions and seals in the exhibits. Again, it was neat to hear them talk about them.

Once we were done with the aquarium, we went to the downtown area. We wanted to eat lunch at Mystic Pizza. Join me next time for my photos of Mystic Pizza.

Here are the three words I’ve been given today.
CRAFTY
NIPPY
CHEEKYAfrican Painted Dogs look as though someone very crafty got into the paint.
They are cheeky dogs though. Don’t get near them because they are extremely nippy. You don’t want to be their meal. -
Here are the three words I’ve been given today.
PLOD
FROWN
RUSHOne of my students plods down the hallway. I always know when he is about to enter my room because I can hear his footsteps. I know I won’t see a frown on his face. Instead, he will tell us how excited he is to be at school. He’s never in a rush to take off his jacket or put down his backpack. If you remind him to do that, he will drop his backpack and jacket right where he is standing. Then you need to prompt him to put it in the right place.
I enjoy his enthusiasm and optimism, so I don’t mind hearing him plod down the hallway. -
My previous post had photos from the outside exhibits at the aquarium. Today I’m going to share some of the exhibits from inside the aquarium.
The hand in the one photo is my hand. I love interactive areas where I can touch the sea life. So I had to touch the stingray.

They had a silent auction going on with cool memorabilia. I decided to take a photo of the Taylor Swift and Think Differently items that were being auctioned off.
Join me on Wednesday for more photos at the Mystic Aquarium. This time, you will see photos of the sea lion show we attended.
