It’s been almost a month since my sister died. Right before her death, I had started a menu plan for the month of September but had not completed it.
During the first full week of September, we ate left overs from her Celebration of Life picnic.
During the second full week of September, we ate freezer crockpot meals that I had prepared the week before Tanya’s death.
Last week, I actually planned out the dinners for the week. Actually the dinners were what I had planned out for the first week of September. It was nice to have a meal plan for the week.
My mom is still living with me so we meal planned together. When we ran our errands today, I decided to buy a big package of hamburger from Sam’s Club today. I am cooking it in the slow cooker so that it’s ready for various meals. I find a large package of hamburger to be economical.
I also found chicken breasts on sale for $1.49 a pound at Fresh Thyme. I’ve decided to make chicken noodle soup for our Sunday dinner with those chicken breasts.
So what is on our menu plan for next week?
We are having
- chicken noodle soup with biscuits topped with butter and pumpkin butter.
- beef stroganoff over mashed potatoes with veggies.
- Johnny Marzetti with homemade garlic bread.
- Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes with chips and raw veggies.
If we need another meal, we are going to make some chili.
Mom is super excited about the Johnny Marzetti. She’s had a hankering for it for a while.
What’s on your menu for next week?
