My family and I recently went on a road trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto during our Spring Break. We tried new foods while there. I tried to take pictures of some of the foods so I could share it with my readers.
Bottom two pictures – I made oatmeal cups in case we didn’t have free breakfast. It helped because the first hotel we stayed at did not have free breakfast. (Apple, almond, and cinnamon and cranberry pecan flavors)
The oatmeal cup made up. I had to use a fork because Hubby forgot to grab my spoon. It wasn’t the best because the only cup I had to warm up the water with had been used for peppermint tea the night before. The peppermint flavor had infused into the cup. It didn’t go well with the apple, almond, and cinnamon flavor.
We stayed at the Fallsview Hilton in Niagara Falls, Ontario and got the breakfast package. It was a buffet breakfast.
One of my breakfasts. The chocolate croissant that I got. It really wasn’t that good. I guess I’ve been spoiled by Fresh Thyme and Walt Disney World.
Fro-yo – The one on the right is my fro-yo. The one on the left is the Imaginative One’s fro-yo. I had that combination twice during my trip. It was a lime and strawberry twist with almonds and coconut. The Wee One also got a fro-yo but I didn’t get a pic of it. He also picked the lime and strawberry twist.
We stopped at the Hershey store in Niagara Falls. Actually we went there twice in one day! The second time was to get treats for later in the day. I ended up going to the Steven Tyler concert so I ended up saving my cupcakes until we got home on Saturday.
One of the cupcakes is a Bear Cupcake and the other was a S’Mores one. I loved the Bear Cupcake because it was super moist.
The treat on the left is a S’Mores. I didn’t try it because it was for the Wee and Imaginative One. I guess they liked it.
More breakfast buffet foods. Did you know that orange marmalade is great on raisin toast? It’s delicious!
I love Canadian Smarties. They are sort of like M&M’s but with natural coloring. Before we left Canada, I made sure to get a bunch of Smarties so I could continue to enjoy them.
Coke is nothing new I just took the picture of the bottle because it is in metric not in American standard measurement.
Trying a pastry called Beavertails in the Toronto Zoo. The Imaginative One had a cinnamon sugar Beavertail. The Wee One had a Beavertail with Nutella, peanut butter, and Reece’s Pieces. My Beavertail had Maple Butter and Chocolate.
My eats at the Toronto Zoo. The salad on the right was a Greek pasta salad. It was super yummy! I want to recreate it at home.
My breakfast at our Scarborough Best Western. (Scarborough is a suburb of Toronto.)
These are the pictures I took on my phone. I’ll have another post with pictures I took on my DSLR camera. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the foods my family and ate while we were on our road trip.
