My Youngest and I went on his 14-year-old trip and then met up with my best friend for our 5th EPIC trip.
We drove almost 1,000 miles in 6 days.
We drove through 4 states and 1 province. – Ohio, Michigan, Ontario, New York, and Pennsylvania
We did something in every state except for Ohio.
Here are some highlights.
#1 – Visiting Lake Huron on both the American and Canadian side. Port Huron, Michigan and Sarnia, Ontario
#2 – Visiting London, Ontario – Saw the Thames River there – The Youngest loved feeding a chipmunk while there. He also loved chasing black squirrels.
#3 – Traveling throughout the lower part of Ontario
#4 – Seeing Lake Ontario
#5 – Driving on the 402, 401, 403, and QEW in Ontario
#6 – Seeing the icewine vineyards near Niagara-on-the Lake
#7 – Visiting Fort George – The information was written in both English and French. When they did the musket demonstration, they did it both in English and French.
#8 – Walking through Niagara-on-the-Lake – So beautiful
#9 – Caravaning from Niagara-on-the-Lake south to Niagara Falls – Stopping along the way to shop and visit the floral clock.
#10 – Getting lost trying to find our hotel.
#11 – Walking 50,000 steps in 2 days
#12 – Walking across the Rainbow Bridge – Going through border patrol on each end – Finding someone from my area on the bridge
#13 – Riding the Maid of the Mist and then climbing some of the Crow’s Nest to see more of the American Falls.
#14 – Going up the Skylon Tower to see the scenic views of the falls from on the top of the tower. There were two guys on the outside of the tower cleaning it so that was interesting to see.
#15 – Walking through the Fallsview Casino and seeing where I saw Steven Tyler just over 3 years ago.
#16 – Watching the fireworks over the American Falls
#17 – Caravaning from Niagara Falls to Erie, PA – Going through the border in Buffalo rather than Niagara Falls – A lot quicker
#18 – The border patrol guard in Buffalo knew where my hometown was and asked me if I was affected by the tornadoes.
#19 – Visited Presque Isle State Park – We laid out on the beach for a while and were entertained by the 20 something year old men that were hanging out near us.
#20 – Climbed the narrow winding 78 stairs at the Presque Isle Lighthouse to see the scenic views of Lake Erie.
#21 – Visited the Erie Zoo which made the 3rd zoo in Pennsylvania
#22 – Made good time driving home until we hit I-70 in the Columbus area. We were stopped for at least 10 minutes then we were driving at speeds of 15 to 20 miles per hour. We ended up getting off at the first exit and driving on Rt. 40 until we were past the back up.
#23 – Drove through Toledo, Detroit, Hamilton, Buffalo, and Columbus
So many memories were made on this trip.
Stay kind!
Great post 🙂
