  • Ark Encounter – Part 1 – The Ride Down

    03/30/2019

Early December, my church decided to travel 2 hours south to the Ark Encounter in Williamsport, Kentucky. During the Christmas season, they had lights that were absolutely beautiful.

  • A Boy And His Sundae

    03/29/2019

We have a tradition of going to a local ice cream shop on most Thursday evenings. Yesterday the Oldest got a brownie sundae. I’m surprised the dog was not begging for any of the whipped cream or ice cream. Yummy!

    Stay kind!

    Have a magical day,

  • A Spring Walk

    03/28/2019

I want my 14.5 year dog to enjoy his senior years. Once of his favorite hobbies to do is go with me when I have to take my children to various evening activities.

On Tuesday evening, I was attempting to get people out the door. Oldest had to go to Kung Fu before I dropped him at Boy Scouts. Youngest was going to Boy Scouts with Hubby. Hubby had to take potluck dishes with him. I needed to make sure he was taking all of the food.

    Lansing, Michigan – Part 6

As I stated before, it was super hot when we left the zoo. So we did not walk around all the green space surrounding the zoo.

  • The most tragic moment of my teaching career

    03/22/2019

The original post I wrote about this tragedy.

June 2009 – Two events occurred in my teaching career. One event made me proud while the other broke my heart into a million pieces.

One of my students from my first 3 years of my teaching career was selected by the University of Louisville to play on their football team. I was extremely proud.

A week later, I received news that would forever change my life.

  • Lansing, Michigan – Part 6 – The Rest of the Potter Park Zoo

    03/18/2019

    Lansing Michigan – Part 5

We continued on our visit to the zoo. Since it was in a park, there was plenty of green space, which was cool to see.

As you can see, it was not a big zoo. We were able to back track through part of the zoo because we missed some of the animals. Plus some of them were sleeping the first time we went past them.

There was not much food at the zoo. However we found a small area near the front. They had fresh veggies with ranch which was a nice snack.

Our favorite part of the zoo was the Wings Down Under. The birds were very active. They enjoyed not only being fed. They also liked climbing on my shorts to play with my keys and on my camera bag. Such a wonderful memory.

Join me next time for our trip back to our house.

    Stay kind!

    Have a magical day,
    Traci

    Lansing Michigan – Part 4

During the middle of the night, it rained. Stormed actually. We were fortunate we didn’t chose to go to Grand Rapids because the storms were much worse. (Hubby wanted to go to the zoo in Grand Rapids because it was bigger.)

  • An Unbelievable Night

    03/07/2019

Three years ago, the boys and I had the same spring break which is unbelievable. When Hubby realized we all had the same spring break, he decided it was a perfect time to go on a family vacation. Where did he decide to take us? How about Niagara Falls during the last week of March.

  • Valentine’s Day: Week 2 – Cupid

    03/05/2019

Cupid refers to a cozy mystery that has to do with the paranormal.

Defending the Dead (Relatively Dead, #3)

Defending the Dead by Sheila Connolly

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this installment of the Relatively Dead series, Abby has moved in with Ned. Since she lost her job at the museum, she has more time on her hands. She decides to see if any of her relatives were part of the Salem Witch trials in 1692 and 1693.

Meanwhile she has to mend a broken relationship with Lindsey, the curator at the museum. Will she allow her to spend time with Elle, Lindsey’s daughter? Oh, did I mention Elle has the same abilities to see ghosts of people from the past?

My Review: I enjoyed the historical aspect of the story. I was a little confused with the whole moving in with Ned and Elle but that was because I had only listened to part of the previous story. In order to get the whole picture, you need to read the stories in order. They build upon each other.

Lethal Licorice (Amish Candy Shop Mystery, #2)

    Lethal Licorice by Amanda Flower

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great book by Amanda Flower.

There is an Amish candy competition going on in Harvest, Ohio. One of the contenders is found dead. Meanwhile Aiden Brody’s mother’s pet pig, Jethro, is missing. Could there be a connection between the death and the missing pig?

Bailey is an Englishwoman competing in the Amish candy competition which is upsetting to some of the Amish. In the meantime, she is also investigating the death of the contender. Can she discover who the killer is before she herself is killed.
